Child Space Organization (CSO) is a legally registered non-profit social service organization in Kenya under the Ministry of East Africa Community, Labour and Social Protection the Department of Social Development office in Nairobi Kenya. The registration number RUA/CBO/5/4/2018/0062 The organization is highly committed to holistic child development by helping the neediest and marginalized children and families in Kenya. Our work mainly targets the vulnerable children, youth and women living in Nairobi’s informal settlements namely: – Korogocho, Baba Dogo, Kariobangi, Mathare and their environs.
Job Description
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
∙ Identify and pursue funding opportunities, prepare high-quality grant proposals, and submit them promptly.
∙ Guide program teams and finance on compliance requirements, potential opportunities, and donor priorities, and ensure effective grant management for all projects.
∙ Collaborate with the Communications Officer to develop and produce communication materials to support fundraising efforts, including brochures, appeals, newsletters, and annual reports.
∙ Develop and maintain partnerships to maximize support and broaden the organization’s reach.
∙ Organize and manage local fundraising events and initiatives.
∙ Institutionalize fundraising efforts to ensure sustainability.
∙ Collaborate with the Communications Officer to develop and monitor online fundraising opportunities.
∙ Arrange and coordinate partner and donor site visits.
∙ Develop and share the annual work plan and budget for the Resource Mobilization and Fundraising Department.
∙ Maintain a comprehensive fundraising database, including successful and unsuccessful concept notes and proposals for future reference.
∙ Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on Resource Mobilization and Fundraising activities.
∙ Develop a quarterly donor newsletter to inform supporters about the organization’s progress.
Key Competencies & Skills
∙ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
∙ Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
∙ Knowledge of fundraising regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices. ∙ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. ∙ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
∙ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising databases.
Key Requirements
∙ Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Project Management, Social work, or any other related field.
∙ A minimum 5 years of related work experience in a similar or higher position of fundraising and resource mobilization preferably within the NGO sector.
∙ Proven knowledge and experience in Communication, Monitoring & Evaluation, or Research will be an added advantage.
∙ Proven track record of successful grant proposals and fundraising initiatives.
