Child Space Organization

Child Space Organization advocates for all Children’s Rights by consistently delivering Child Protection and Safeguarding services through innovative, direct and meaningful engagements with the children and stakeholders from the grassroots to the national level.

We work closely with Children, Youth, Parents/guardians, teachers and other institutions with an aim of empowering them with value-based Behaviour Change Process trainings, vital Life Skills and nurturing talents as a sustainable tool to curb Violence Against Children (VAC) and all other social vices.

Child Space Organization was legally registered in Kenya with the Department of Social Development office as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in 2018, under the Ministry of East Africa Community, Labour and Social Protection.

Creating our Children’s future

Formation of Child Space Organization was propelled by the dire need to intervene and support the children, Youth, Parents, Teachers and the community at large, when various reports emerged that many young girls especially school going ages "Teenagers" were blindly engaging in several risky behaviours that exposed them to early pregnancies which they happened to fear the most however, they were not afraid of diseases such as HIV&AIDS/STIs

What we Care About

Our Programs

Building a strong sense of community in our Building and Nurturing Approaches

Building capacity of the Parents/Guardians on Matters Parenting and empowerment; the program considers how best Parents can connect with and build good relationships with their Teenage Children, while also being firm and influential in their lives. We use well researched principles of effective communication and conflict resolution which parents can use with their teenagers.

For instance: Getting to know and connecting with teenagers; Encouraging and Listening to Teenagers; Establishing rules and boundaries; Inculcating teenagers’ responsibility; Discipline for you people/ dealing with Conflict and Solving teenage problems among others.

for Prevention of HIV/AIDS, Drugs and Substance Abuse and Multiple Social Vices in a given society. The application of Skills-Based Health Education, in particular life skills, to areas such as Teenage pregnancy, HIV/AIDS prevention, Reproductive Health, Gender Based Violence, Drugs and Substance Abuse is becoming increasingly widespread.  In areas such as these, individual behavior, social and peer pressure, cultural norms and abusive relationships may all contribute to the health and lifestyle problems of children and adolescents.  There is now increasing evidence that in tackling these issues and health problems, a Skills Based approach to Health Education works, and is more effective than teaching knowledge alone.

Definition: In practice, Safeguarding is the policies and practices that schools and governing bodies employ to keep children safe and promote their well-being.  While Child Protection is a term used to describe the activity that is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm. Child Space Organization being a committed Organization to Holistic Child Development, we implement this through evidence-based approach on Drugs and Substance Abuse – Early Prevention of Drugs and Substance use among young people.

    Gender Based Violence (GBV)

What an exciting session on Gender Based Violence (GBV)! The Smart Children Club members were moved with the topic on GBV as it was well delivered by our able friend Immaculate. They were all active throughout the session and their participation and contribution was beyond our expectations.

    Behavior Change Process (BCP) workshop

The Behavior Change Process (BCP) workshop was well attended by young people from various secondary schools. Next will be on Behavior Formation Process (BFP) for a little bit younger children. We do these to help the Teenagers Change and stop engaging in risky activities, while at the same time aiding the young ones to form positive behaviors.
